Wajid Akhtar's Biography

Wajid Akhtar's Biography: Wajid Akhtar was born in July 1984 and raised in Sheffield, in the North of England. He comes from a devout Muslim family of Asian origin. From a young age he had a desire for becoming an ‘MC’ (rap star) like many of the youth today. Soon after he had leftschool he faced many challenges in his life where he lost two of his close friends who both died tragically and at a very young age. This was a verycrucial time in Wajid’s life and he felt very withdrawn from society and became drawn into the world of Islam. Despite his passion for becoming an MC, Wajid traveled to Makkah where he made the pilgrimage. It was sometime after his return from Makkah that he began to write and sing many of his own nasheeds. He then went onto to perform his nasheeds locallyand was met with very positive feedback. He then took this a step further and was given the opportunity to record his debut album “Show Me the Way” which was released in September 2008, along with his debut video “I Need Your Help” The album and video have been met with much Critical Acclaim and have become recognised internationally. Wajid then went onto perform with The Kaiser Chiefs at the LMHR 2008; this was to a huge audience of whom the majority were Non – Muslim. He feels that this has now given him an opportunity to express and invite people to the call of Islam through his singing and thought provoking lyrics. Wajid now wishes to share his God given talent and hybrid vocals with the rest of the world.

I Need Your Help

Allah Allah Allah Allah
I need your help to feel alive
I’m feeling weak and I’ve no strength to fight

The truth that is within me
Chorus:
Allah I need your help
Allah I believe in you
Allah forgive me and bless me with your mercy

I’m feeling cold with the sky so grey
I need someone who will show me the way [Show me the way]
I’m feeling light and I need topray
Because I know Islam is hereto stay
Chorus:
Allah I need your help
Allah I believe in you
Allah forgive me and bless me with your mercy
Allah Allah Allah Allah

I’m drowning in the sea so deep
I need someone who will set me free
You sent us a guide that was full of light
And now that he’s gone I feel the need to cry

Allah I need your help
Allah I believe in you
Allah forgive me and bless me with your mercy
Allah Allah Allah Allah
Allah Allah Allah Allah [Show me the way]
I need your help

Maher Zain’s Biography

Fascinated by the music and instruments, Maher got his first keyboard when he was only ten and ever since music officially became part of Maher’s world.

The family moved to Sweden when Maher was only 8, where he continued his schooling, and later entered university and got a Bachelors degree in Aeronautical Engineering. With things changing around him, one thing remained the same – his strong passion for music. He would spend late nights at school with his friends where they would sing, rap, compose and experiment with music in every way. It didn’t take him long to realize that music became an integral part of who he is.

After being involved for a while in the music scene as a music producer, Maher was introduced to RedOne, a gifted music producer who was fast rising in the music scene in Sweden. Maher started working with RedOne and later moved to New York. For a few years he was in the middle of the hot rush of the NY music industry, working with chart topping artists such as

Kat Deluna on her debut album including smash hits ‘Whine up’ and ‘Run the Show’. Maher had what many would describe as a dream job for someone so young in such a glamorous business, but for Maher it felt like this was far from what he would call ‘the dream’, “I loved the music but I hated everything that surrounded it, it always felt like something wasn’t right”.

In January 2009, Maher Zain decided to work on an album that reflects his identity – Arab, Western and Muslim – and signed with Awakening Records. Maher’s debut album Thank Youa Allah reached the number 1 spot on Amazon’s World Music charts and number 9 on the R&B charts.

In January 2010, in a music competition organized by Nujoom FM (Egypt’s biggest music radion station) Maher’s track ‘Ya Nabi Salam Alayka’ was voted as the best song for 2009. Runners up included big names like Hussein Aljismi, Mohammed Mounir and Sami Yusuf. Maher has already performed at sold out concerts in Algeria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Egypt, England, France, Holland, Sweden, and the US amongst others and is fast becoming the ‘next superstar of Islamic music’.

Trials Of Life

My life is not the same
When I’m too concerned by what they say
Why should I? When I have you
To doubt you would be the worst mistake

Deep inside I know
That amidst all the darkness
And everything, which makes no sense
I know that you exist
You are the light
That guides me through my darkest nights
That shows me right from wrong in life
In a world that often lies

Cause I don’t need anyone
Nor anything in life
But You
No I don’t need anyone
To show me my way
No I don’t need anyone
But You

Trials of life upon me
Are more precious than diamonds and gold
Tested with fire I may be
But I know I’ll come out stronger in this world

Deep inside I know
That amidst all the darkness
And everything, which makes no sense
I know that you exist
You are the light
That guides me through my darkest nights
That shows me right from wrong in life
In a world that often lies

Cause I don’t need anyone
Nor anything in life
But You
No I don’t need anyone
To show me my way
No I don’t need anyone
But You

I only want the things
You know is best for me
I’d gladly sacrifice
If that’s what you decree
I would break and
Mourn in eternity
Perish into the sea
If that’s what you want for me

No Word Is Worthy Lyrics

Searched for the words
To describe your beauty
No matter how I tried
No word seemed worthy
Struggled to find
The right words for You
Words just fail to describe
What’s deep inside

Subhan Allah, Wa alhamdulillah, la illaha il Allah, wa Allahu Akbar

(URDU)
Zemmeen Aseman, Jinn-o-Insaa bhi
(Earth and the Heavens, Jinn and Mankind)

Teri taa’reefein, Kartey bayan sabhi
(All praise Thee)

Bekhud huey, Dono jahan hi
(So both worlds become intoxicated)

Ruh se nikley, Jab ye kalma…Subhan Allah…
(When the soul recites this one word…Subhan Allah)

Subhan Allah, Wa alhamdulillah, la illaha il Allah, wa Allahu Akbar
(FARSI)
Dar havaye To
(In Your remembrance)

Par migoshaayam
(I spread my wings)

Be omidi ke roozi
(In hope for the day)

Sooye To ayam
(I come to You)

Dar vasfe To
(In describing You)

Jomleha ra gashtam
(I searched sentences)

Kalameyi najostam
(I found no word)

Joz inke gooyam
(Except to say)

Subhan Allah, Wa alhamdulillah, la illaha il Allah, wa Allahu Akbar

(MALY)

Ku mencari kata puji
(I searched for words to praise You with)

Buat menemani zikir hati
(Words to instill Your remembrance in my heart)

Namun tiada kalam yang pasti
(But no words are assuring enough)

Yang sesuci kalam ini
(As sacred as these)

Subhan Allah, Wa alhamdulillah, la illaha il Allah, wa Allahu Akbar

Wherever You Are

My best times
Were when I felt close to you
But everything fell apart
The moment I strayed from you

In each smile
In every single sigh
Every minute detail
Traces of you are found there

Wherever you are I’ll find you
Cause you’re the one I turn to
Wherever you be I’ll be with you

Cause you’re the one my heart is to
I need you

To see your smile
I would pass every trial
Desperately I await
For the day when I’m by your side

Wherever you are I’ll find you
Cause you’re the one I turn to
Wherever you are I’ll follow you
Cause you’re the one I turn to
Wherever you be I’ll be with you
Cause you’re the one my love is to
My love is to

Wherever you may be
I’ll follow till I see
In my heart you will be
Your love is all I need

In every single smile
Every single sigh
Every minute detail
Traces of you are there

Wherever you may be
I will search till we meet
In my heart you will be
Your love is all I need

Wherever you may be

Without You

Softly you called to me
Across the space between
Across eternity
Where love winds a path unseen

Out of the wilderness
You beckoned my every step
I stumbled sometimes and yet
I never once looked back

‘Cos I would see
The man I know I used to be
How I was lost before you reached for me
No I don’t know
Where I would go
What I would do

Without You
Without You
Without You

Like a heart between beats
I would feel nothing you see
If you took your love from me
I don’t know what more would life mean?

I'd use my final breath
To call out your name and let
That breath upon the breeze
Rise like a kiss to thee

So you might see
Just what your love has meant to me
And what the cost of losing you would be
No I don’t know
Where I would go
What I would do

Without You
Without You
Without You

‘Cos I would see
The man I know I used to be
How I was lost before you reached for me
No I don’t know
Where I would go
What I would do

Without You
Without You
Without You

He is there

Some might say this world today shows
God's left us to our mistakes oh
He has never been so far away
Some might say
How could any father stand
To see his children across so many lands
Suffer so and give no helping hand
No helping hand

And somewhere tonight
Far away and out of sight
There's a child that's too weak to cry
Look deep in those eyes
Can't you see him in disguise?
Reaching out to the heart that's in you and I

In every tear
That is where
He is there

He's the hand that wipes that brow
He's the tear that trickles down
Upon the face that cries without a sound
'We need you now'
What a simple choice to make
Between what you give and what you take
When what you give
Such precious life precious life would save
Life would save

And somewhere inside
There's a part of you asks why
Would he leave so many so far behind
Look deep in those eyes
Can't you see him in disguise
Reaching out to the heart that's in you and I

In every tear
That is where
He is there

Look again don't hide your eyes
He is there in disguise
Reaching out to you and I
He is there in every tear
Not far away he's right here
Oh how could he be more near

Anything For You

If there were a single sacred rose
On a mountain top that grows
Where nobody ever dares to go
For you I'd climb that mountain high
I would reach up to the sky
If that rose was your desire

Don't you know that I
Would do anything
Would do anything
For you
I would do anything
Would do anything
Anything for you

For you, I would sail the seven seas
Walk the deserts in between
Just to bring you anything you need
Nothing could ever be too much
Anything to show my love
‘Cos it gives me strength enough

Don't you
Don't you
Don't you know that I
Would do anything
Would do anything
For you
You know that I
Would do anything
Would do anything
Anything for you

For you I would take on any trial
And I would walk on through the fire
You give me strength enough to face it all
You make me feel invincible

‘Cos I would do anything
Anything for you
You know that I
Would do anything
Would do anything
Anything for you

These things are nothing to
All the things you do for me
You are my dream come true

A love I never knew you see
I'd take on a mountain high
Just to see you smile for me
You make me want to be
The very best that I can be

I would do anything
Anything for you
You know that I
Would do anything
Would do anything
Anything for you

Chorus
Lord of the earth and the sky

You Came To Me

You came to me in that hour of need
When I was so lost, so lonely
You came to me, took my breath away
Showed me the right way, the way to lead
You filled my heart with love, showed me the light above
Now all I want is to be with you
You are my one true love, taught me to never judge
Now all I want is to be with you

Allahumma salli ‘ala sayyidina mustafa
‘ala habibika nabiika mustafa

You came to me in the time of despair
I called onto you, you were there
Without you what would my life be
Not know the unseen, the worlds between
For you I’d sacrifice, for you I’d give my life
Anything just to be with you
I feel so lost that times by all the hurt and lies
Now all I want is to be with you

Allahumma salli ‘ala sayyidina mustafa
‘ala habibika nabiika mustafa

Showed me right from wrong
Told me to be strong
Need you more than ever ya RasulAllah
You came to me in that hour of need
Need you more than ever ya RasulAllah
You filled my heart with love, showed me the light above
Now all want is to be with you
You are my one true love, taught me to never judge
Now all I want is to be with you

Allahumma salli ‘ala sayyidina mustafa
‘ala habibika nabiika mustafa

My Ummah

My ummah, my ummah
He will say
Rasulullah on that day
Even though we?ve strayed from him and his way

My brothers, my sisters, in Islam
Let?s struggle, work, and pray
If we are to
Bring back the glory of his way

CHORUS:
Ya Allah ya rabbal ?alamin
Ya rahmanu ya rahim
Ya rabbi
O Allah Lord of the Worlds
O Merciful and Beneficent
O my Lord

Let the Ummah rise again
Let us see daylight again
Once again

Let?s become whole again
Proud again
?Cause I swear with firm belief in our hearts
We can bring back the glory of our past

My ummah, my ummah
He will say
Rasulullah on that day
Even though we strayed from him and his way

Look at where we were
And look at where we are
And tell me
Is this how he?d want it to be?
Oh no! Let us bring back our glory

CHORUS

Healing

It's so hard to explain
What I'm feeling
But I guess it's ok
Cause I'll keep believing

There's something deep inside
Something that's calling
It's calling you and I
It's taking us up high to

CHORUS:

Healing, a simple act of kindness brings such meaning
A smile can change a life let's start believing
And feeling, let's start healing

Heal and you will be healed
Break every border
Give and you will receive
It's Nature's order
There is a hidden force
Pulling us closer

It's pulling you and I
It's pulling us up high

CHORUS:

Healing, a simple act of kindness brings such meaning
A Smile can change a life let's start believing
And feeling, let's start healing

Hearts in the hand of another heart and in God's hand are all heart
An eye takes care of another eye and from God's eye nothing hides
Seek only to give and you'll receive
So, heal and you will be healed

Mother

Blessed is your face
Blessed is your name
My beloved
Blessed is your smile
Which makes my soul want to fly
My beloved
All the nights
And all the times
That you cared for me
But I never realised it
And now it’s too late
Forgive me

Now I’m alone filled with so much shame
For all the years I caused you pain
If only I could sleep in your arms again
Mother I’m lost without you

You were the sun that brightened my day
Now who’s going to wipe my tears away
If only I knew what I know today
Mother I’m lost without you

Ummahu, ummahu, ya ummi

How I long to see O mother
“Your mother, Your mother, Your mother”
Is the saying of your Prophet
In my heart, in my dreams
You are always with me mother

You went and left me
O light of my eyes
O comfort of my nights
You went and left me
Who, other than you, will embrace me?
Who, other than you, will cover me?
Who, other than you, will guard over me?
Your pardon mother, forgive me

I praise Allah for sending me you my love
You found me home and sail with me
And I`m here with you
Now let me let you know
You`ve opened my heart
I was always thinking that love was wrong
But everything was changed when you came along
OOOOO
And theres a couple words I want to say
Chorus:
For the rest of my life
I`ll be with you
I`ll stay by your side honest and true
Till the end of my time
I`ll be loving you.loving you
For the rest of my life
Thru days and night
I`ll thank Allah for open my eyes
Now and forever I…I`ll be there for you

I know that deep in my heart
I feel so blessed when I think of you
And I ask Allah to bless all we do
You`re my wife and my friend and my strength
And I pray we`re together eternally
Now I find myself so strong
Everything changed when you came along
OOOO
And theres a couple word I want to say

maher zain 'awaken'

We were given so many prizes
We changed the desert into oasis
We built buildings of different lengths and sizes
And we felt so very satisfied
We bought and bought
We couldn't stop buying
We gave charity to the poor 'cause
We couldn't stand their crying
We thought we paid our dues
But in fact
To ourselves we're just lying

Oh...I'm walking with my head lowered in shame from my place
I'm walking with my head lowered from my race
Yes it's easy to blame everything on the west
When in fact all focus should be on ourselves

We were told what to buy and we'd bought
We went to London, Paris and
We made show we were seen in the most exclusive shops
Yes we felt so very satisfied

We felt our money gave us infinite power
We forgot to teach our children about history and honor
We didn't have any time to lose
When we were.. (were)
So busy feeling so satisfied

I'm walking with my head lowered in shame from my place
I'm walking with my head lowered from my race
Yes it's easy to blame everything on the west
When in fact all focus should be on ourselves

We became the visuals without a soul
despite the heat
Our homes felt so empty and cold
To fill the emptiness
We bought and bought
Maybe all the fancy cars
And blink will make us feel satisfied

My dear brother and sister
It's time to change inside
Open your eyes
Don't throw away what's right aside
Before the day comes
When there's nowhere to run and hide
Now ask yourself 'cause Allah's watching you

Is He satisfied?
Is Allah satisfied?
Is Allah satisfied?
Is Allah satisfied?

Always Be There

Allahuakbar…

If you ask me about Allah
And what I know about it
I’ll answer will be .....

It’s everything about Allah
The pure love to our soul
Who have created you and me,
The heaven and whole universe
The One that made us hold and free
The Guardian of His True believers

So when the time gets hard
There’s no way to turn
As He promises to you
He’ll always be there
To bless us with His love and His mercy coz
As He promises to you
He’ll always be there

He’s always watching us, guiding us
And He knows what’s in our little heart
So when you lose your way to Allah
You should turn
As He promises to you He’ll always be there ...

Could bring the sun from the darkness
Into the light
Subhanallah
Capable of everything
Should never feel afraid of anything
As long as we follow His guidance
All the way through a short time
We have in this life
Soon it’ll all be over
And we’ll be in His heaven
And we’ll all be fined

So when the time gets hard
There’s no way to turn
As He promises to you
He’ll always be there
To bless us with His love and His mercy coz
As He promises to you
He’ll always be there
He’s always watching us, guiding us
And He knows what’s in our little Heart
So when you lose your way to Allah
You should turn
As He promises to you He’ll always be there

Allahuakbar

Thank You Allah

I was so far from You
Yet to me You were always so close
I wanna love in the dark
I close my eyes
To all the signs
You put in my way
I walked the day
Further and further away from You
Oh...
Allah...
You brought me home
I thank You
With every breath I take

Alhamdulillah
Our praise is to Allah

I never thought about
All the things You had given to me
I never thank You once
I was to proud
To see the truth
And prostrate to You
Until I took the first step
And thats when You opened the doors for me
And now Allah I realized what I was missing
By being far from You

Alhamdulillah
Our praise is to Allah

ALLAH...
I wanna to thank You
I wanna to thank You
For all the things that You've got
You've got me through all the years I've been lost
You guiding me from all the ways that were wrong
And indeed You give me hope

Oh ALLAH...
I wanna to thank You
I wanna to thank You
For all the things that You've got
You've got me through all the years I've been lost
You guiding me from all the ways that were wrong
I wanna thank You
For bringing me home

Alhammdulillah
Our praise is to Allah
